Spring 2022 Art Auction

Hello all! Here is our much-anticipated update on the current events of Sisters Project Peru.
This past February, Sister Project Peru hosted an art auction at Fry Springs Beach Club in Charlottesville, Virginia, with the help of our student members at the University of Virginia, local artists, and the community of Charlottesville. Maya and other members worked tirelessly to collect hundreds of art donations, ranging from paintings to photographs to sculptures, as well as advertise the event to the community. Almost fifty people attended the event, including friends, family, professors, and even a local band, Work in Progress. In total, Sisters Project Peru raised $4,100 through this event, with the proceeds specifically benefitting soil sampling and other community efforts in Huacahuasi. We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing turnout we had to the event, which has ultimately inspired us to make this event annual!
In terms of future endeavors, Sister Project Peru is planning to visit Huacahuasi this summer to continue our community engagements. En febrero, Sister Project Perú organizó una subasta de arte en Fry Springs Beach Club en Charlottesville, Virginia, con la ayuda de nuestros estudiantes de la Universidad de Virginia, artistas locales y la comunidad de Charlottesville.
