  • Jacob Saul

    Jacob, raised in Northern Virginia strives to connect others from around the globe together in order to bring value and smiles to the community. When he is not online, he enjoys producing rap music and songwriting. In addition, he is an avid gamer and runs a small content creation channel with his brother. Jacob is a member of the Rap-Lab at UVA and a part of the Asian Student Network at McIntire. Furthermore, he is a member of the Hablemos Spanish Speaking Club and is obsessed with culture and history. He is also currently studying to apply to the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. After graduation, he plans to become an IT Consultant or Business Analyst.

  • Baijun (Lisa) Zhang

    Baijun Zhang is from China and is currently a first-year at the University of Virginia. She has been involved with many volunteer opportunities during her time in high school and in university. Currently, she is a volunteer in Autism Allies at UVA, interacting with people on autism spectrum in the Charlottesville community. In her free time, she attends Charlottesville Shotokan Karate Club and Wushu Club at UVA for regular practice. She is also a member of Chinese Students and Scholars Society at UVA. One of her favorite things she loves to do is to try different restaurants and cuisines in Charlottesville, exploring new things and discovering joys in life is one of her goals.

  • Cindy Zhang

    Cindy Zhang, originally from Wenzhou, China, is a first-year student at the University of Virginia. She plans to major in Anthropology. As the community arts coordinator, Cindy is passionately dedicated to raising funds by fostering creativity and cultural engagement within our community. She aims to bring a unique and insightful perspective to our team, underpinned by her academic pursuits. She firmly believes in the power of art to bridge communities, ignite interaction, and inspire change. Cindy is also a member of the DreamCorps activity team, organizing fundraising activities that support education in rural China.

Our UVA Alum

  • Rachel McGinnis

    Rachel was a Project Coordinator for the UVA team of Sisters Project Peru. Her work revolved around the organization, advertisement, and procurement of art for the team’s annual art auction. While at UVA, Rachel double majored in Anthropology and Art History and plans on pursuing a career as a museum curator. She was an intern in the Collections Department at The Fralin Museum of Art at UVA where she will be worked to put on an exhibition in the spring 2024. Rachel was also an Education Abroad intern with the International Studies Office at UVA where she works with students and faculty to coordinate study abroad advertising and programming. She was also a member of the Cavalier Marching Band as an alto saxophone member and Drill Instructor. Additionally, Rachel was a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, a fraternity for band members that focuses on music, scholarship, and service. In her free time, Rachel enjoys cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her friends.

  • Jessica You

    Jessica You is from Burke, Virginia and double majored in Global Public Health and Economics with a minor in Data Analytics. Her contributions to the project included community engagement, project management, and finances. Within the Charlottesville community, she volunteered at the UVA Hospital with Madison House and worked as an Administrative Assistant at UVA Student Health and Wellness. In her free time, she loves to read, watch Marvel movies, and go to concerts. After she graduates, she will be going to graduate school to earn her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Applied Epidemiology.

  • Huy Anh Nguyen

    Huy Anh, originally from Vietnam, majored in Public Policy and Leadership at the Batten School. His academic path took a pivotal turn when he transferred from Bocconi University in Milan to UVA during his second year,in search for a liberal education that resonates with his broad worldview. Huy Anh's international experiences have endowed him with a rich global perspective, which he aptly applies to his studies and collaborative projects. Post-graduation, Huy Anh aspires to become a policy analyst impacting foreign affairs and international development. Outside the classroom, he is passionate about video games, cinema, and narrative-driven television shows.
