Please join us for good vibes, drinks, art, and more! The Spring Silent Art Auction will be held at Kardinal Hall on April 7th from 5-8 PM. Live jazz and food available for purchase will be at the venue space. This event will feature a silent auction filled with student and professional art donated for the purpose of fundraising for Sisters Project Peru. A collaborative art project will present attendees with the optional artistic exploration on what healthcare means to them. Art Donations:
Sisters Project Peru at UVA, is seeking donations for an art auction hosted on April 7th at Kardinal Hall. SPP is hoping to receive art donations from studio art majors, generated through their coursework over the first half of the semester. Any artist is welcome to donate. The deadline for donations is April 4th, and students (and faculty!) can drop off their artwork outside of Ruffin 303A (the mail room)! Sisters Project Peru X Remote Access Medical: Food, Healthcare, and Indigenous Justice Panel Conversation
Sisters Project Peru, a branch project of FNE International and CIO at UVA is dedicated to increasing healthcare access in a rural, Indigenous community in Peru. On grounds, the CIO is working to increase education and awareness around issues of remote healthcare access, food and health outcomes, and Indigenous Justice. In conversation with a cooking class event April 3 from 6-7:30 PM at the UVA Teaching Kitchen in which a traditional Peruvian dish will be taught by a professional chef from Inka Grill, Sisters Project Peru aims to host a panel conversation exploring food, healthcare, and Indigenous justice. The panel will be hosted April 6 from 2-3 PM at Student Health and Wellness. The panel aims to bring together conversations on local food/health/Indigenous justice efforts within the Charlottesville environment and the work of Sisters Project Peru. Peruvian Cooking with Inka Grill
Sisters Project Peru, a branch project of FNE International and CIO at UVA is dedicated to increasing healthcare access in a rural, Indigenous community in Peru. On grounds, the CIO is working to increase education and awareness around issues of remote healthcare access, food and health outcomes, and Indigenous Justice. A cooking class event April 3 from 6-7:30 PM at the UVA Teaching Kitchen will involve teaching Ceviche, a traditional Peruvian dish taught by a professional chef from Inka Grill, with the hopes of bringing a taste of Peruvian flavor and culture to grounds here in Charlottesville. Spring Bikeathon
Sisters Project Peru is currently planning a bikeathon fundraiser which will not only bring funds but also help to spread the word about what they’re trying to accomplish. Bikers can either contribute a suggested donation to attend the event, or they can ask friends and family to pledge a dollar amount per mile biked. The bike-a-thon will be held on March 23, 2024 at Dorey Park in Henrico, Virginia from 10am-12pm. Online Raffle
This campaign is continuing to raise money for the people of Huacahuasi in their self-determination to raise funds and build a medical clinic to increase healthcare access in their rural village in Peru. Auction items feature local experiences found in the Charlottesville Area, as well as weavings, scarves, and handicrafts made by the women from the village. Art Auction
Art Auction to fundraise for Sisters Project Peru this February 11 from 6-12 PM at Fry’s Spring Beach Club. A student band will perform live music and refreshments and light appetizers will be provided (masks and COVID social distancing will be reinforced). Art donations are greatly appreciated.
